Deer Garden Signatures

If you ever decide to check out Deer Garden Signatures, remember to come early, because this place will be packed! Out of the three times that I've visited this place, there were always massive lineups at the door, even at twenty minutes after opening. Anyways, they are supposed to be a Hong Kong Style Cafe (according to one of their awards on the wall), but I believe most people go for the noodle combo.

Basically, you choose your own soup base, type of noodles and two toppings. The result...?

 A big whopping, steaming bowl of yummy! This is the dried fish and minced pork fish soup with vermicelli.

And this is the Thai tom yum goong soup, with pork skin, cuttlefish balls and vermicelli as well. Both soups were very flavorful, but did leave me a bit thirsty afterwards. While I can't comment on the authenticity of the tom yum goong soup, I can tell you that it was the perfect mix of sour and spicy for me. The vermicelli was nice and smooth. All of their noodles come with a generous amount of cabbage, mushrooms, green onions and bean curds.

The noodle combo also comes with a drink (pictured: cold lemon tea and cold honey lemon). While they were nothing spectacular, it was nice to have cold drink after the hot noodles.

I always say that next time I visit, I will try some of their other dishes, but somehow I just can't seem to resist their noodles! Guess that gives me more of an incentive to come back again.

I highly recommend this place, for both its value and taste ($7.50 for such a big bowl and a drink!). The only downside is that it's always packed and quite noisy. Nonetheless, I'm sure you'll leave Deer Garden Signatures full and satisfied!
