Shark Club

A while back, friends and I were stumped as to where to have our next meal. We decided to take a break from all the Asian food in Richmond and head over to Shark Club. Ok, I'll be honest. The real reason was because I had heard about a certain dessert on the menu and was dying to try it.

Ambiance-wise, Shark Club is very similar to Joey's, Milestones, Cactus Club, etc. The Richmond location is pretty spacious, and was also quite empty on the Friday night that I was there. They have multiple TV's everywhere so it'd be a great place to catch a game.

Chicken Pesto Quesadilla
Their Chicken Pesto Quesadilla was so good that I dare say it was the best quesadilla I've ever had. The shell was crispy yet still soft and contained lots of warm chicken and beans. The salsa was very fresh and zesty with its juicy tomato bits and kernels of corn. Even the mixed greens that came with this was yummy -- light and refreshing. It was topped with slices of daikon which I thought was a unique touch to a otherwise seemingly normal salad.

Chicken & Ribs
Above is a half rack of pork ribs with two pieces of BBQ-glazed chicken breast. The ribs were soft and tangy but not quite fall-off-the-bone yet. I enjoyed the chicken very much as it was very tender, juicy and full of that smoky BBQ flavor. Overall this is a great dish for all those meat-lovers out there (ahem, Steven).

Clubhouse Sandwich
I can't say much about the Clubhouse Sandwich because I didn't get to taste it, so I'll just let the picture do all the talking. Based on the tastes of the other dishes, I think it's safe to assume that this was one delicious sandwich.

Chocolate Chunk Cookie Skillet
Even though we were all stuffed from our entrees, we had to try the dessert. After all, we all have that extra compartment in our stomach just for desserts, right?  I came to Shark Club with high expectations about this Chocolate Chunk Cookie Skillet, and it certainly did not disappoint. A cookie is served on a hot skillet, topped with a hefty serving of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. The cookie was so heavenly moist that it was almost like a brownie. Eat the warm cookie with the ice cream and you'll get a tantalizing effect of fire and ice on your tongue. Best cookie ever!

Next time you're looking for a place to watch the game (or watch the waitresses...just kidding!), head to Shark Club! The service is friendly and the food is great. Make sure to bring ID though, as we got ID'd despite having no intention of ordering alcoholic drinks...
